The
Tanger Hillel at Brooklyn College was designed
by Percival Goodman, a leading architect
of American synagogues. The Hillel House, as it is affectionately
called, is students’ “home away from home”.
It was built in 1959 at the junction of Campus Road and Hillel
Place, across from the Whitman Auditorium of Brooklyn College,
at the very center of Brooklyn.
The
Hillel House is the largest Hillel facility at a New York campus
and features:
17 Jewish clubs
|
Kosher cafeteria
|
An auditorium
|
Recreation room with big screen TV,
ping-pong and a pool table
|
Conference room
